How Competitions Work
A fair, transparent, and exciting competition system designed to recognize your dance competition journey and connect you with the global Kizomba community.
01 The Leaderboard
Our system revolves around the leaderboard, which showcases top dancers based on their accumulated points. Compete, win, and watch your ranking rise.
Points are earned by placing in competitions - but not all competitions are created equal. The size of your competition determines the tier, and the tier determines your points.
02 The Three Tiers
Winners of competitions earn points that contribute to their leaderboard ranking. The number of points awarded depends on the size of the competition — larger competitions with more participants offer higher point rewards.
Competitions are categorized into three tiers based on the number of participants per role (lead/follow) in each competition level.

Our judging philosophy celebrates the spontaneity and authentic connection of social dancing. Judges evaluate what's appropriate for your level and role.
